Orchard Park parish holds 24th annual lawn fete

One of the highlights of summer in the Southtowns each year is the lawn fete at St. John Vianney Parish in Orchard Park. The 24th annual event will take place from Friday, July 22,  to Sunday, July 24. The lawn fete will run on Friday and Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 10 p.m.

Among the events at this year's lawn fete will be a food truck rally, live entertainment, variety tent, beer tent and more. There will be fireworks each night as well.
The children's area will feature games, bounce houses and other special surprises.  There will also be a special silent auction tent that will feature many items and special experiences from around Western New York, including unique sports items from the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills and events at First Niagara Center.

The weekend starts with the annual 5K Kickoff Run and Walk on Thursday, July 21, starting at 6:30 p.m. Online registration, prizes, eligibility and complete details are available at www.kickoffrun.com. Several Buffalo Sabres players and alumni will be at the post race tent party. Last year, WGR 550 radio host Andrew Peters and Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons stopped by to spend time with the crowd.

The event will be in full swing on Friday night as the annual Cruise Night will feature cool cars and other surprises. The entertainment tent will feature rising country singer Eric Van Houten, fresh off performing at Jam in The Valley. Van Houten will hit the stage from 8 to 11 p.m.
Saturday will include St. John Vianney Alumni Night. The entertainment tent will feature music by Hit N Run performing from 7 to 11 p.m. On Sunday, July 24,

The annual BW's chicken and rib dinner will be available on Sunday, July 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. The live music will pick up in the afternoon, when local Irish favorites the LeftOvers will perform Irish classics from 1 to 4 pm.

Country hits will fill the air when 90 West helps wrap up the event from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will also include electronics and other giveaway announcements.
