Churches open doors for adoration and private prayer

While a date for the return of public Masses has not yet been determined, many area churches are open for private prayer.  Here is a list of where you may go for a private moment with the Lord. Please keep the need for social distancing and protective masks in mind. 

Buffalo — Holy Angels Church offers the Divine Mercy Chaplet and adoration from 3-4 p.m. each weekday. The church is open from 10 a.m. to noon each Saturday and Sunday. Confessions may be scheduled calling 716-885-3767.

Buffalo — St. Mark has adoration Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adorers are asked to bring wipes to clean their pew and door handle after.

Buffalo — Blessed Sacrament in Buffalo is open for private prayer and devotion on Wednesdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Buffalo — St Casimir Church is open for private Prayer Sundays 10 to noon. Adoration is held First Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Allegany — St. Bonaventure Church is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for private prayer. Confessions are available by appointment.

Alden -- St. John the Baptist is open on Mondays for private prayer from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m, entrance is through the side door.

Amherst — St. Leo the Great Church opens its chapel from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every day.

Angola — Most Precious Blood Church unlocks the front door to allow individual visitations Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Saturday 3 to 5 p.m.; and Sunday 8 a.m. to noon. 

Athol Springs — St. Francis of Assisi Church is open for private prayer Monday-Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Mass is livestreamed at 8 a.m.),  Saturday from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Mass livestreamed at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.), Sunday from 12 Noon to 4 p.m. (Mass livestreamed at 11 a.m.)

Boston — St. John the Baptist Church is open every day from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for private prayers only.

Dunkirk — St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church is open Monday-Friday for private prayer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Elma — The Church of the Annunciation is open for personal prayer Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 12 noon,  Saturday 4 to 6 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 12 noon. 

Farnham — St. Anthony Church in is open for private prayer weekdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Fredonia — St. Anthony of Padua Church is open for adoration and private prayer Monday-Friday 7:30-10 a.m. 

Fredonia — St. Joseph Parish Church is open for adoration and private prayer Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30-11 a.m. 

Getzville — St. Pius X Church is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on weekends after Mass until 5 p.m.

Harris Hill — Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church is open every Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. for adoration and private prayer

Hamburg — St. Mary of the Lake Church has adoration every Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. beginning and ending with Benediction.  At 3 p.m. a small group of six or seven people gather for the rosary and divine mercy chaplet.  Adoration takes place every First Friday from 9 to 4 p.m. The church is open Sunday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for prayer. On Saturday, it is open from 3-6 p.m. Confessions are held every Saturday from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

Lackawanna — St. Anthony Church is open on Sunday morning for private prayer from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Adoration takes place Monday's from 6-8 p.m.

Lackawanna — Our Lady of Victory National Shrine & Basilica is open every day for prayer from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lake View — Saint John Paul II is open daily for adoration in their Little Church from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Medina — Holy Trinity Church offers the sacrament of reconciliation Mondays at 7:15 a.m., Fridays at 7:15 a.m., and Saturdays at 3:30 p.m.

Middleport — Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephen Worship Site offers the sacrament of reconciliation 5:10 p.m. 

Niagara Falls — St. Vincent de Paul Church has both of its worship sites,St. Leo's and Prince of Peace, open for confession on Saturdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Adoration takes place on First Fridays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Prince of Peace worship Site

Orchard Park — St. Bernadette Church is open 24 hours a day for private prayer and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. During the pandemic, only the front doors of the church are unlocked. (The church will be closed during curfew hours.) The sacrament of penance is offered with social distancing and masks on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.

Pendleton — Good Shepherd Church is open for private prayer Thursday-Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed at 3 p.m. followed by the rosary.

Springbrook — St. Vincent de Paul Church is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for private prayer.

Swormville — St. Mary Church has opened its chapel for private prayer Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eucharistic Adoration is from Noon-1 p.m. 

Tonawanda — St Amelia Church offers a Holy Hour of Adoration, Monday-Friday 12 noon to 1 p.m. the church is also open for private prayer Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary takes place Monday-Friday 3 p.m. Confessions may be schedule by calling 716-836-0011.

Tonawanda — St Timothy Church is open weekdays, 9-11 a.m., Saturday 4-6 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

West Seneca — Queen of Heaven Church is open for private prayer and adoration from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.

West Seneca — Fourteen Holy Helpers Church converted their screened-in porch on the back of the rectory into a chapel where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed 24/7. The church itself is not open for prayer.  

Williamsville — St. Gregory the Great Church is open for private prayer and adoration weekdays from 1 to 6 p.m.

Youngstown — The Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima Shrine is open for private prayer daily from 9 am to dusk. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 Noon through 4 p.m. Monday Bible Study is being conducted through Zoom.
