Bishop Richard J. Malone announced appointments for three area priests.

Father Timothy J. Koester was named temporary administrator of Holy Name of Mary Parish, Ellicottville, effective Dec. 20. A retired Navy chaplain, Father Koester achieved the rank of commander and most recently served at Parris Island, S.C. He returned to the Diocese of Buffalo in the summer and was named administrator at St. Mary, Catttaraugus, and St. Joseph, Gowanda, while the pastor, was on sabbatical. Father Koester was ordained in 1983 and has served at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Dunkirk, and SS. Peter and Paul, Jamestown, as well as associate director of the Diocesan Youth Department.

The bishop also appointed Father Sean E. DiMaria and Father Gregory M. Faulhaber to membership on the Priests' Personnel Board.

Following his ordination in 2005, Father DiMaria served as parochial vicar at SS. Peter and Paul Parish, Hamburg. He now simultaneously serves as pastor at SS. Brendan & Jude, Almond-Alfred; Blessed Sacrament, Andover; Immaculate Conception, Wellsville; and Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Belmont; and St. Mary, Bolivar.
Father Faulhaber, pastor of Queen of Heaven Parish since 2015, was ordained by Bishop Edward H. Head in 1979. Prior to receiving his first pastorate, he was assigned to Christ the King Seminary, East Aurora, where, over the years, he served as vice rector, director of seminary formation and professor of moral theology. Father Faulhaber's previous assignments include associate pastor at St. Barnabas, Depew, and St. Amelia, Tonawanda, and campus minister and director of the Newman Center at the south campus of the State University of New York at Buffalo.
