Advent is when we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of the Lord on Christmas, and there are many things we can do. Even watching special programming can help put our minds and hearts in the right place. With that, I offer you this list of programming.

Saturday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 a.m. and noon on WKBW-TV Ch. 7: "Our Daily Bread" - Host Father Paul D. Seil will talk about blessings and how we can implement them not only during holiday time, but in most situations.

Sunday, Dec. 11, at noon on WKBW-TV Ch. 7: "Building a Basilica" - This hourlong documentary tells the story of this national shrine through vast archive materials, including drawings and letters from Father Nelson Baker, architect Emile Uhlrich, builders, artists and contractors.

Sunday, Dec. 18, at noon on WKBW-TV Ch. 7: "Our Daily Bread" - Father Seil prepares us for this most holy time of the year. On the show, we learn about the manger and how Father Frederick Betti, SJ, has been restoring and rebuilding them for years. Father Seil will also prepare Hispanic dishes with chef Fernando Desa from Goya Foods Inc., and Bishop Richard J. Malone will offer a special Christmas blessing.

Sunday, Dec. 25, at 7:30 a.m. on FOX 29: "Sunday Televised Mass: Christmas" - Bishop Edward M. Grosz celebrates Christmas Mass in the Our Lady Chapel of St. Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo.

Sunday, Dec. 25, at 9 a.m. on WKBW-TV Ch. 7 "Come Let Us Adore Him, Christmas Mass" - The Buffalo Diocese will be bringing Christmas to the country. Through the Interfaith Broadcasting Commission, ABC-TV Network affiliates across the country will air this Mass, celebrated by Bishop Malone in the Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel and Shrine in Cheektowaga.
