Immaculate Conception Parish presents Lent from three women's perspective

Tue, Mar 12th 2019 02:00 pm

EAST AURORA — You are invited to explore Lent with three dynamic ladies on three Wednesday nights at Immaculate Conception. Eileen Warner, Ann Marie Eckert and Kathleen Heffern will explore the topics of Almsgiving, Fasting and Prayer respectively.

Warner currently serves as the director of Mission and Pastoral Outreach at Christ the King Seminary. Prior to that she was the pastoral associate at St. Gregory the Great Parish in Williamsville.

Eckert's ministry career began in the Diocesan Youth Department as associate director. From there she served as the director of Youth Ministry for the diocese of Milwaukee and then spent many years working as a trainer and writer for the Center for Ministry Development. Currently she is the pastoral associate at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Ithaca.

Last but certainly not least - Kathleen Heffern retired from her position as the director of the Office of Parish Life for the Diocese of Buffalo a few years ago. For numerous years before that she was the director of the Office of Lay Ministry, and she was a high school teacher prior to that ministry. All three ladies bring a wealth of experience to their topics.

On Wednesday, March 27, Warner will speak on Almsgiving, Eckert will discuss Fasting on Wednesday, April 3, and Heffern will present Prayer on Wednesday, April 10. Each evening will be held in the school cafeteria from 7-8 p.m. All are invited to join us.

For more information you may visit the parish website at www.icchurchea.org or call 716-652-6400. We hope you'll make this retreat part of your Lenten journey.
