Hello, Diocese of Buffalo. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Patrick McPartland, and I am the new managing editor of the Western New York Catholic newspaper. Some of you may know me already because, for the past 20 years, I have been the staff photographer for the newspaper and the Buffalo Diocese. I have been to every corner of the eight counties of Western New York we call home. Every area is different and has many stories to tell. Whether that story is from downtown Buffalo or from the Village of Kendall, I want to tell those stories, but I need your help doing that.

My parents, Bob and Kathy, raised me to look to my faith for strength and guidance. While attending St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, a major influence on my life and faith was Brother Fred Dihlmann, FSC, who taught me to minister through my gifts and example. This is why I decided to use my passion and talent for photography to bring joy and understanding to the people who view my work. Everyone has a gift, and we know you are using these gifts within your churches to benefit others. These qualities often go unnoticed in the world today, but they shouldn't. They should be celebrated and held up as examples for the faithful to look up to and follow. I want the Western New York Catholic and WNYCatholic.org to tell those stories.

Tell us about your upcoming events, but, more importantly, tell us about the people in your area who live the Good News everyday. It doesn't have to be anything big - sometimes the small things make the largest impact.

Thank you, and I look forward to working with you. I can be reached at pmcpartland@buffalodiocese.org or (716) 847-8743.
