Students earn scholarships to help continue Catholic education

CHEEKTOWAGA — Two students at Mary Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School have earned scholarships to continue their Catholic education.

Thatheona Padilla, an eighth-grade student is a recipient of The John R. Oishei Foundation High School Scholarship which provides full tuition for four years of high school plus $500 annually for books and technology fees. Padilla will attend Mount Mercy Academy in Buffalo in the fall.

Sianna Le, a fourth-grade student, has been chosen as a Cullen Scholar by the Cullen Foundation Scholarship Committee and will receive full tuition to attend Mary Queen of Angels School for the next four years.

"We are beyond thrilled for these two terrific students, and we congratulate Thatheona, Sianna and their families for their accomplishments in the classroom and their ongoing commitment to Catholic education," said MaryAlice Bagwell, principal at Mary Queen of Angels School. "We look forward to their continued scholastic success and we can't wait to see what the future holds for these talented young ladies."
