WLOF offers coverage of papal visit

BUFFALO - 101.7 FM WLOF Catholic Radio will provide listeners with exclusive live radio coverage of Pope Francis' historic visit to Cuba (Sept. 20-22) and the United States (Sept. 23-27), in conjunction with the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) Radio.

Live coverage of U.S. events will start with the Pope's visit to Washington, D.C., including his meeting with President Obama on September 23 at 9 a.m.; Mass and Canonization of Blessed Junipero Serra on September 23 at 3:30 p.m.; and address to Congress on September 24 at 9 a.m. All times are Eastern.

Coverage will continue with his stop in New York City, which includes an address to the General Assembly of the United Nations on Friday, September 25, at 8 a.m. and Mass at Madison Square Garden on September 25 at 5 p.m.

Mass will also be covered in Philadelphia, PA at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and with the World Meeting of Families on September 26 at 10 a.m. and September 27 at 4 p.m.

Throughout the entire week of Pope Francis' visit, some of 101.7 FM's regularly scheduled programs will be preempted, while others will continue to be broadcast with a focus on the Pope's visit. Some of the regularly scheduled programs will be broadcast live from the World Meeting of Families. There will also be special programming, featuring reflections and analysis by top experts regarding Catholic teaching and the implications of Pope Francis' visit for American society and culture.
