Over the last few years, big things have been happening, and continue to happen, in Buffalo. On this encore performance of "Our Daily Bread," host Father Paul D. Seil, pastor of St. Bernadette Parish in Orchard Park, spends time out and about.

Father Seil begins the show strolling through Canalside, in the city's downtown corridor at Pearl Street and Marine Drive. With the revitalization of the harbor comes the onset of outdoor family activities, such as concerts, bike riding, kayaking, yoga and more.

St. Joseph Cathedral, at 50 Franklin St., is where Father Seil begins cooking. He prepares grilled breakfast burritos for the crew and anyone who happens by. Father Peter Drilling, rector of St. Joseph Cathedral, stops in for a quick chat before he says Mass.

Next on the itinerary is Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Buffalo's Old First Ward. Father Seil will talk to Peg Overdorf, a community advocate and executive director of the Valley Community Association. Father Seil will show Overdorf how to make a grilled romaine and shrimp salad.

Father Seil will end the show in Larkinville, in the old Hydraulics neighborhood, at St. Patrick's Friary. Built in 1891, it is home to six Franciscan friars of Holy Name Province.  Father William "Jud" Weiksnar, OFM, will make a fruit salad and join Father Seil to talk about Franciscans in this community.

This encore performance of "Our Daily Bread" airs Saturday, Aug. 8, at 5:30 a.m. and noon on WKBW-TV Channel 7. Remember to check www.odbtv.org for the day's recipe.
