Father Peter Karalus named to Catholic School Advisory Council

Bishop Richard J. Malone has appointed the pastor of St. John Paul II Parish, Lake View, to the Catholic School Advisory Council, the panel which advises the bishop on Catholic elementary school issues.  His parish is also home to Southtowns Catholic School.  Father Peter J.  Karalus joined the panel in December 2014.

A member of the Organizational Structure and Leadership subcommittee for Catholic Schools, the Buffalo native graduated from St. John Kanty School, St. Mary's High School in Lancaster and the University at Buffalo, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree. Father Karalus studied for the priesthood at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora and was ordained a priest in 1997 by Bishop Henry J. Mansell.

A former adjunct faculty member/chaplain at St. Mary's High School, Father Karalus is a member of the diocesan College of Consultors, serves as secretary of the Presbyteral Council of the diocese and is a delegate to the Priests' Council of New York State.
