By the time you read this, it will officially be summer. After such a long, crippling winter, where should we enjoy these lovely summer days? In downtown Buffalo, of course.

On "Our Daily Bread," host Father Paul D. Seil, pastor of St. Bernadette Parish in Orchard Park, will spend some time in downtown Buffalo. St. Joseph Cathedral, at 50 Franklin St., is the first stop. Father Seil will make grilled breakfast burritos for the crew and anyone who happens by.

On the next leg of our tour, we will find Father Seil strolling through Canalside in the city's downtown corridor, at the intersection of Pearl Street and Marine Drive. With the revitalization of the harbor comes the onset of outdoor family fun activities such as concerts, bike riding, kayaking, yoga classes and much more.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help is the next stop. Father Seil will talk to Peg Overdorf, executive director of the Valley Community Association, an organization that assists families with a variety of services. Father Seil will be showing Overdorf how to make a grilled romaine and shrimp salad.

Father Seil will finish in Larkinville, where St. Patrick's Friary resides. Built in 1891, it is home to six Franciscan friars of Holy Name Province. Father William "Jud" Weiksnar, OFM, joins Father Seil to talk about the Franciscan presence in this community.
