Bishop Trautman to lead Lenten retreat

Bishop Donald W. Trautman, bishop emeritus of Erie, Pa., will return home to the Diocese of Buffalo in March to lead a Lenten retreat at Immaculate Conception Parish in East Aurora on March 15, 16 and 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Prior to serving as bishop of Erie for 22 years, Bishop Trautman taught at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, served as chancellor, vicar general, auxiliary bishop and as a pastor for the Diocese of Buffalo.

He served two elected terms as the chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Liturgy and played a prominent role in translation issues relative to the Lectionary and New Roman Missal. He is the former chairman of the Bishops' Committee on doctrine.  

Monday evening, March 16, will include an opportunity for individual confessions. All are invited to join the retreat.
