Deacon James R. Waggoner 1957-2020

Deacon James R. Waggoner died suddenly Sept. 20, 2020.

Born June 10, 1957 in Buffalo to Robert and Janet (Mowrey) Waggoner, he attended Blessed Sacrament School and Cardinal O'Hara High School, both in Tonawanda. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business from Niagara University, and later, a master's in pastoral arts from Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora.

Deacon Waggoner worked as a certified public accountant for Campagna & Gallson in Williamsville for 35 years.

After his ordination, he served as St. John the Baptist Parish in Kenmore, Little Portion Friary in Buffalo, Kenmore Mercy Hospital, McCauley Residence and Central City Practicum.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Overton) Waggoner, and children: Sean (Jennifer) Waggoner, Matthew Waggoner and Ashley (Chase) Melton, grandchildren, and a brother, Dennis.

A funeral service was held Sept. 26 at St. John's.
