Father Daniel Ogbeifun appointed pastor in Lockport

Before his Dec. 4, 2019, retirement Bishop Richard J. Malone made several appoints for local clergy. Father Daniel E. Ogbeifun has been appointed pastor of All Saints Parish in Lockport. This appointment is effective Dec. 17, and for a term of six years or until a subsequent appointment. Father Ogbeifun has previously served as parochial vicar of St. Lawrence and St. Martin de Porres parishes in Buffalo, and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Harris Hill.
Father Joseph Porpiglia has been named canonical administrator of the Catholic Academy of West Buffalo for a term of three years.
Father George Devanapalle has been appointed pastor of SS. Joachim & Anne Parish in Attica and Varysburg. This appointment was effective Dec. 1, 2019. Father Devanapalle was previously the administrator of SS. Joachim and Anne Parish.
Deacon David R. Velasquez has been appointed temporary pastoral administrator of Queen of Angels Parish in Lackawanna, effective Jan. 1. Father John Kasprzak, who has served as pastor since 2008, has been appointed as sacramental minister and priest moderator for a term of six years.
Faculties have also been granted to Father John J. Mattimore, SJ, who will be returned to the Diocese of Buffalo on Jan. 1. He will reside at the Canisius Jesuit Residence and will work with the New Buffalo Institute at Canisius College.
Father Peter Napierkowski, who hails from Koscian, Poland, became an incardinated priest of the Diocese of Buffalo on Nov. 24, 2019. The following day he was named pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Boston, where he had been serving as administrator since September 2018.
Father Charles Lintz, SSC, has been appointed by the regional director of the Columban Fathers as the new chaplain at St. Columban's on the Lake in Silver Creek. Bishop Malone has granted him faculties effective Nov. 15, 2019.
The Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province have informed the diocese that Father Francis J. DiSpigno, OFM, will conclude his assignment at St. Bonaventure University on Jan. 15. He has been assigned to a parish in New Jersey.
