Bishop Richard J. Malone has reappointed Msgr. Salvatore Manganello as pastor of St. Louis Parish for a third term of six years, effective Nov. 9.

Msgr. Manganello, who also serves as judicial vicar for the diocesan tribunal, was first assigned to the downtown Buffalo parish in May 2004. He initially served as administrator until being named pastor the following year.

Msgr. Manganello studied at Wadhams Hall Seminary College, Ogdensburg; North American College, Rome; and Gregorian University, Rome, where he earned licentiate degrees in sacred theology and canon law. He was ordained in September 1982.

Msgr. Manganello served as parochial vicar at St. Paul Parish, Kenmore, and St. Joseph Parish, Niagara Falls. In 1993, he was named defender of the bond in the tribunal, and in 1994, Bishop Edward D. Head named him judicial vicar.

Bishop Malone has assigned Father Seán Paul Fleming to higher studies as he attends the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, in pursuit of a graduate degree in liturgy.

Ordained in 2012, Father Fleming has served as parochial vicar at St. John the Baptist Parish, Kenmore; St. Bernadette Parish, Orchard Park; and St. Amelia Parish, Tonawanda.

He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in information technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, before he entered Christ the King Seminary, East Aurora.
