The Diocesan Marian Commission, under the spiritual direction of Father Michael Burzynski, pastor of St. John Gualbert Church in Cheektowaga, is in the process of planning a pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., similar to the one that took place in 2012.

Some of the events planned include a retreat day at the National Shrine of The Immaculate Conception, a morning visit to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land and a visit to the St. Elizabeth Seton Shrine in Emmitsburg, Md. Other plans have not yet been finalized.

Accommodations would be at the Catholic Retreat House for three nights, breakfasts and suppers. This lovely facility is right next door to the St. John Paul II Center, and almost directly across the street from the National Shrine.

The retreat would be Monday to Thursday, Oct. 16-19. The approximate cost will be $440 per person, but is not yet finalized. Stops for lunches are not included in this price. Forty people would be needed to make this happen.

For more information, contact Pauline Kinecki, secretary for the commission, at 716-895-4540, no later than Aug. 31.
