Bishop Richard J. Malone has named three new pastors and two new administrators for area parishes.

Father Gregory M. Faulhaber received his first pastorate when he was appointed pastor at Queen of Heaven Parish in West Seneca for a term of six years.  Ordained in 1979, Father Faulhaber's first priestly assignment was as associate pastor at St. Barnabas Parish, Depew, followed by a term at St. Amelia Parish, Tonawanda.

In 1989, he was named campus minister and director of the Newman Center at the south campus of the State University of New York at Buffalo.  In 1990, he moved to Belgium to study at the Catholic University of Louvain, where he earned both a licentiate degree and doctorate in moral theology.  Upon his return to the Diocese of Buffalo, he was assigned to Christ the King Seminary, East Aurora, where he has served as vice rector, director of seminary formation and professor of moral theology. The former pastor at Queen of Heaven, Father Thomas J. Quinlivan, retired in September.

Father Jay W. McGinnis, who was ordained in 1976, was named pastor of St. Pius X Parish in Getzville for a term of six years.  He had been serving as the parish's administrator since February when the former pastor, Father James C. O'Connor, retired.

Father McGinnis's previous assignments were as parochial vicar at St. Joseph University Parish in Buffalo; Blessed Sacrament and St. Christopher, both in Tonawanda; and SS. Peter & Paul Parish in Williamsville.  His first pastorate was at St. Patrick Parish in Randolph where he served from 1991 to 1995.  He went on to serve as pastor at Our Lady of Pompeii Parish in Lancaster, and in 2005, he was named pastor of St. Paul Parish in Kenmore.  He has also served as chaplain at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, Kenmore, and as secretary to Bishop Donald W. Trautman, former auxiliary bishop of Buffalo.

After retiring in 2013, Father Daniel P. Walsh has returned to parish life.  He was appointed pastor of Holy Trinity Parish in Dunkirk for a term of six years.  When he retired, Father Walsh had been serving as pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Gowanda, and St. Mary Parish in Cattaraugus.  His previous assignments as pastor were at St. Anthony Parish, Fredonia, and St. John the Evangelist Parish, Buffalo.  Father Walsh served at several parishes following his ordination in 1968 and also taught at both St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, Kenmore, and Holy Angels Academy, Buffalo.

Father Piotr Napierkowski, a native of Poland, has been named administrator at Our Lady of Peace in Salamanca, where he takes over for Father F. Patrick Melfi who was assigned to Christ the King Seminary.

Father John E. Stanton was named administrator at St. John XXIII Parish in West Seneca.  Msgr. Kevin T. O'Neill had been serving as the parish's temporary administrator since the death of the pastor, Father Dennis G. Wolf, in November 2014.  Father Stanton's new assignment is for a term of three years.  He served as parochial vicar at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna since his ordination in June 2013.

Bishop Malone also appointed four priests to additional terms as pastors at their current parishes. Father Richard Jedrzejewski and Father Gregory J. Dobson have both begun their fourth six-year terms as pastor.  Father Jedrzejewski is at Assumption Parish in Buffalo, and Father Dobson is at St. Mary of the Angels Parish in Olean.  Father Edward J. Sheedy, pastor of St. John Parish in Olean, and Father James B. Cunningham, pastor of St. Teresa Parish in Buffalo, have been assigned second terms of six years at their parishes.
