Sister Norma Terese Wind, a Religious Sister of Mercy, died July 13, 2015, in the Mercy Center Health Care Unit in Buffalo. She was 82 years old.

She was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Buffalo, to Anthony G. and Teresa (Van Leckwyck) Wind. She moved to Attica before joining the Sisters of Mercy Community in Buffalo in 1951.

Sister Norma Terese received a bachelor's degree in education from Medaille College in Buffalo, beginning a 20-year ministry teaching at diocesan schools in Jamestown, Niagara Falls, Olean, Orchard Park and West Seneca.

Later, she served in the Sisters of Mercy business office, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital and Father Baker Manor in Orchard Park, also serving at St. Brigid Food Pantry and Outreach of Catholic Charities. She began sewing classes for women living at the Commodore Perry Homes in Buffalo.

Sister Norma Terese is survived by four siblings, Marilyn Brunner, Elaina Klein, and Anthony and Charles Wind.

A funeral Mass was held in Mercy Center Chapel in Buffalo.
