St. Casimir Church to hold Heritage events

St. Casimir Church in Buffalo will hold its annual Heritage Events program throughout March. 

"Bitter Lamentations of Christ" devotion will take place on Sundays in Lent at 9:30 a.m.  The devotion is a stirring, bilingual, chanted Passion Meditation: "Gorzkie Żale." It will also include adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Multilingual confessions will take place on Friday, March 6, at 7:30 a.m., and at 12:30 p.m. Multilingual confessions will also take place on Saturday, March 21, at 6:15 p.m.

A PolAm Palm Weaving Class will be given by Father Czeslaw Krysa, pastor of St. Casimir Parish, at the  Castellani Museum of Art at Niagara University on Sunday, March 15, from 2 to 4 p.m.

A Latin Novus Ordo Mass with Chant Choir will take place at the parish on Saturday, March 21, at 7 p.m.

A Polish Decorative Paper Cutting Class, given by Barbara Frackiewicz, will take place at the Castellani Museum of Art on Sunday, March 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. To register call 716-286-8200.

The Palm Sunday Heritage Competition will take place at the parish following the outdoor pussy willow procession on Sunday, March 29, at 10 a.m. There will be written eggs (pisanki), woven palms and butter lambs. Prize categories will include most traditional and most creative. Lunch will be available after judging in the social hall.

The parish will hold an Easter food blessing on Holy Saturday, April 4, at 1 and 3 p.m.
