Bishop Malone to Host College Student Listening Session at Niagara University

Tue, Sep 3rd 2019 11:00 am

Bishop Richard J. Malone, in conjunction with Niagara University and the Movement to Restore Trust, will host a College Student Listening Session on Wednesday, September 11 from 5:30p.m-7:30p.m. in the Russell J. Salvatore Dining Commons. The Session is a College Student-only event and will include Bishop Malone praying with students, hearing their thoughts and comments, inviting discussion, and offering summary remarks as well. Students planning to attend are asked to have their student ID's with them.

Seven Listening Sessions have been held, since June, across the Diocese in Williamsville, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Olean, Batavia, Orchard Park and Dunkirk. The Sessions have been designed for the Bishop to hear the concerns of the faithful and for the faithful to offer recommendations for future initiatives. Recognizing the importance of the input and empowerment of the laity working in collaboration with the Diocese, these Listening Sessions have been an opportunity to create constructive partnerships, receive feedback, and formulate next steps to address the effects of the clergy sexual abuse crisis and other matters of concern.
