About 900 Catholic school educators in the Diocese of Buffalo will gather on Friday, Sept. 30, for an educators' convocation at Cardinal O'Hara High School, 39 O'Hara Road, Tonawanda.  The biennial meeting will include teachers and administrators from all diocesan elementary and middle schools, which will be closed that day.  Some Catholic high school educators also will be in attendance.

Highlights of the professional development day include a welcome by Sister Carol Cimino, SSJ, Ed.D., superintendent of Catholic Schools, a keynote address by Father Joseph Gatto, president-rector of Christ the King Seminary, East Aurora, and Mass celebrated by Bishop Richard J. Malone.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose from 55 breakout sessions and visits by more than 70 exhibitors. Some of the speakers are from local colleges, including Canisius College, Daemen College and Buffalo State College, as well as teachers from Catholic schools who will concentrate on the STREAM (science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and math) curriculum.  Some of the vendors also provided speakers.
